Round twenty-five of Super League starts on Thursday night with a St Helens side, still needing two wins to clinch the Minor Premiership up against a Wakefield Trinity side who know that a loss will effectively end their slim play-off hopes.  Friday sees Castleford take on Warrington as third plays fourth while Huddersfield and Hull meet with both sides knowing that their top four challenge will be over should they lose. The final top flight fixture comes on Saturday afternoon as Wigan travel to the Catalans Dragons.

Three of the four Qualifiers games also take place on Saturday with Widnes desperate for their first two points at a buoyant Salford. Either Toulouse or Halifax will open their accounts in the competition as they meet in southern France  while Hull KR are in Toronto to face the Wolfpack knowing that a loss will put them in all sorts of trouble. The final game is on Sunday afternoon when a fourth placed London Broncos entertain top-of-the-table, Leeds Rhinos.

Wakefield will be looking to build on last week’s away win in Hull as they entertain Saints with Coach Chester making just one change to his squad as Scott Grix comes back from a three month injury lay-off, taking the place of Keegan Hirst. Saints are the bookies favourites, despite last week’s loss to Huddersfield, have Luke Thompson absent through suspension as Justin Holbrook recalls Jack Ashworth and Aaron Smith.

Castleford Tigers are favourites to beat Warrington on Friday night in the game of the round and coach Powell makes three changes from the side lost narrowly to Wigan last time out.  Calum Turner, Grant Millington and Pete Mata’utia replace QLT, Sene-Lefao and Milner in the nineteen man squad.  Warrington’s Steve Price also makes three changes to his squad as the Wolves keep one eye on the play-offs and the other on the Challenge Cup. Stefan Ratchford, Ben Murdoch-Masila and Mike Cooper all return after being ‘rested’ last week with Charnley, Livett and Westwood being omitted.

Huddersfield Giants are in a good place at the moment after their big win at Saints last week and are strong favourites to further increase Hull’s misery at the John Smith’s Stadium. New signing Suaia Matagi may make his Giants debut and Jake Wardle is also in the squad as Mamo and English drop out of the nineteen. Mark Minichiello and Dean Hadley are both named in the Hull FC squad and may return to action as Hull seek to end a five game losing streak.

Super League’s final game is in Perpignan on Saturday as the Catalans Dragons aim to end an eight game losing sequence against the Wigan Warriors. A weakened Dragons side, who know that their entire season will now be defined by their Wembley trip next weekend, will look to overcome a heavy defeat at the hands of their Challenge Cup opponents. Wigan are still suffering injuries and suspensions but may have Dominic Manfredi back in contention for a place in the side.

Salford and Widnes kick off the Qualifiers this weekend when they meet at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It was honours shared this season with both sides winning their home games, the last meeting being the 26-12 win for Salford in June. The bookies believe that it will be a Salford win to continue their one hundred percent Qualifiers record.

Toulouse and Halifax will both be desperate for the win when they meet at 19:00 in the south of France. Halifax were nilled, despite a brave battle in Toronto, while Toulouse put up a decent enough fight at Qualifiers favourites Leeds Rhinos, going down by 48-22 in a high scoring match. The bookmakers think that it will be a home win and a first two points for Toulouse.

Hull KR are in Toronto for a 19:30 kick-off needing a win to avoid a whole heap of trouble as they look to retain their top flight status for 2019. The bookies believe that the Canadian side will pick up another two points in their quest for Super League but Hull KR will arrive determined to spoil the party.

Leeds Rhinos ‘Director of Rugby’ Kevin Sinfield will know not to take his old mate Danny Ward’s London Broncos for granted as they travel to the capital for Sundays remaining Qualifiers fixture. London did brilliantly to beat Super League side Widnes by a solitary point last week and will now believe that they are true challengers for a place at the top table in 2019. Anything other than a top drawer performance from a Rhinos side without Ryan Hall for the rest of the season could see an embarrassing loss for last season’s champions. The bookies, however, don't think that the Rhinos will have too many problems.
