DS Security, who have a reputation for their, lets say "heavy handed" tactics, when working on the doors around the nightclubs of Halifax.
Something to do with complying with the CMBC Health & Safety certificate apparently.
They're surely not needed unless we're playing Fev. If they are, do we actually need to employ as many safety stewards? Are the council paying for this contract or the club? Unneccesary added costs to the Shay Payroll in my opinion.

Couple of them stood at the back of the South Stand for a short spell during the York game for seemingly no apparent reason. They got some very strange "what the heck are you doing here?" looks.

That was not for no reason. They were there to escort one of the people in the courier photo line-up to the waiting police.

They have been at the football friendlies as well. 4 bouncers just stood there in a crowd of 800 doing absolutely f**k all.

Some on here dont half talk total crapola, They are damned if they do and damned if they dont.

If you have done nothing wrong then there isn't a problem and i would prefer some security guards who know how to handle themselves and do actually get stuck in than some muppet than can hardly spell there own name and are probably employed on minimum wages to show a presence but dont do anything when they are needed.

the people who have got a decent security firm in. At least the club or stadium whoever is responsible for this is seen to be doing something and actually getting one of the 8 in the photos taken to task by the police. Perhaps other clubs could follow this example.

I suppose they can't be any worse than that trumped up Scottish head stewardess who paces up and down the front of the east stand barking out orders down her walkie-talkie & pointing up and down and shouting at stewards when they've done nothing wrong.

Theres another steward that looks like hes come out of an asylum & they employed a blind steward a few years back, and a steward that needed a walking stick, I kid you not!

Got to agree I feel safer with those guys about than a normal steward ,one was given a bit of a shout on Sunday as he has bought a B&B in Blackpool . Had a bit of a smile to myself as I wouldn`t want him towering over me telling me to eat my greens or I couldn`t go out and play.

i did wonder about this myself.

if Featherstone employed bounsers like this they could have saved themselves alot of trouble, and embarassment for both clubs.

Anybody heard who was taken in by the Police. Thought that was the situation when it was happening.

There was someone escorted under the stand but 5 minutes later he was back up there. Don't know if he was removed again after that

As far as I know, the police took their details and let them on their way, doesnt mean they won't speak to them again though.

I'm sure "self-defence" is not a crime. I trust the alleged perpetrator cleared that up with the local constabulary.
