| Mr Noble rumoured to have been moved upstairs as Director of Rugby and Iestyn Harris to take over as head coach. The good DR's patience runs thin.

| Very strange decision.
Salford needed stability not more change.
I think the Dr needs to learn that success will not happen immediately and the squad he's got at the moment isn't very good regardless of who coaches them.
It wouldn't matter whether Wayne Bennett or Damo was coaching Salford they're still unlikely to make the playoffs.

| Noble is yesterday's man - his success at the Bulls was based on them having the biggest side in the competition. He left as soon as the side had started to fade. He left no junior legacy on which the club could move forward. At Wigan he simply filled the side with ageing/average NRL players at the expense of the youth.

| Does anyone actually believe that Nobby was ever a good coach?
IMO he took over Matty Elliot at the Bulls and of a squad of players that didn't require any "super coach" in charge at that time as they were such a star studded bunch of players
Nobby has never ever left any lasting legacy junior wise at any club he has been at, and he is only a short term coach at best
His immediate improved performances of a poor Crusaders squad and there best ever finish surely indicate this do they not?
I actually think that Harris will be a great head coach, although he will be thoroughly tested at Salford by Dr Kockrash'"

| I doubt he will do anything for SAlford, but I could be wrong, teams that he has coached have played dull boring rugby and watching wales is like watching paint dry, one up rugby with a last tackle kick"............time will tell but Salford can't buy success it's more embedded. I team that succeeds like LEeds have done over the last ten years is built on local talent and a will to work for each other, signing players like Tim smith, hock and rangi chase are there for the money and no more. It's a recipe for disaster.

| I think that Harris will eventually have a very successful career as a coach.
I'd be happy to see him back at Leeds in that capacity but can't ever see it happening.
I find all the "Judas" comments pathetic.

Suits the very insular thought process of your average RL fan though.

| I have a hunch that Harris will turn out to be a very good coach.
I don't see this move working out, for two reasons:
1) I think it might well be too soon to go into what will be a high-profile, high-pressure head coach's appointment. I see shades of Daryl Powell, who I always thought we chucked in at the deep end too early and I think it damaged his career. He's back in SL now and showing every sign that he'll have a really successful career. I hope we see him back at Headingley one day.
2) I also suspect (hunches, but that's all we have really) that Dr Koukhash will be the type of chairman/owner who has an itchy trigger finger and over-blown expectations. Whether Noble is a top coach or not is almost an irrelevant debate, it's hard to imagine him having done a lot more with what he has to work with at Salford. It will take time and patience to turn them into a top team. If Dr Koukhash has no patience, coaches will get no time. His removal of Noble and his constant "aaarrggh, too slow, I need to buy success NOOOOOOOWWW!!!" exclamations are not the hallmarks of a patient man.
