Agree. I think he knew that too and I suspect Cas made him a very good offer. Can’t win em all I’m afraid

He may well offer more than Thompson but Thompson isn’t in the first 13 either (bar injuries) and first team rugby will be what Sutcliffe wants

I think people need to bear in mind this is Alex’s choice not the clubs who as Agar says are sorry to see him leave

Might be Alex's choice but given Agars selection policy & some of the players deemed in front him the Club have certainly had an influence on his final decision.

Would of liked him to stay, think he'l be a good Backrow going forward...think he could do the job Donaldson does with the potential for much more...But like others have said, probably walks into the Cas 17 every week next season, and we cant offer that...At Centre or Backrow, Even if we didnt have the likes of Donaldson and Thompson.

And if the club see Tom Briscoe as a better choice at centre then you can’t really blame him.

He has more chance of first team rugby at Cas plus its believed to be a four year contract this is a no brainer for Sutcliffe.

Sutcliffe has been injured recently and the fact he played him in a major cup final shows he thinks highly of him.

I can only guess but I would imagine wants to be first choice in his position and he simply isn’t going to get that at Leeds it happens sometimes.
