| I can't get my head around this at all. Dr K mentioned that there's a possibility of Swinton playing in the top flight with Salford in the future (if he owns both teams).
Won't this be a conflict of interest, or am I missing the point?

| I notice certain Swinton posters on here have been conspicuous by their absence recently? Ming the merciless saving their club? I hope they don't choke on their humble pie....

| There would be no conflict of interest, assuming he receives clearance from the RFL. Another way around it would be to name Mandy Koukash (his wife) as Swinton Lions chairman.
With regards to Swinton playing at the AJ Bell, I would imagine this would be the case although it is dependent upon obtaining acceptance from Sale who's contract dictates the amount of games played on the pitch.
One aspect of the take over I dont understand is Koukash's threat to move to Salford out of the AJ Bell Stadium if he doesnt gain the majority shares in the stadium. I cant imagine that attitude is going to assist Salford Council in approving any proposed developments for the St Ambrose Barlow site.

| I think to many fans of Salford the idea of playing in Swinton would cause a stumbling block.
My thoughts on the Doc buying Salford are well known as are my reasons for feeling the way I do but I'm struggling to see how the threat too move out of Barton will help to facilitate his efforts to buy the stadium (or at least a majority share in it).
Surely if he really wants to buy the stadium and maximise the earning potential of the ground buying Sale would be his best potion? year round use of the stadium buy teams who own it would generate the largest income and would allow for much of the back room staff to be amalgamated and where seperate people are not needed cuts to be made allowing more money for investment in areas where it is needed. I'm not talking of making a joint organisation but one owner pooling both entities resources.
If people with an anti RU stance looked at things rationally I'm sure they'd see that the option above offers the best chances for the purchase of the stadium and maximum profits from it when complete.

| It is difficult to compare and contrast with other sports clubs, locally and nationally, but it seems shared ownership of stadia and shared use by different sports is a recipe for disaster.
As this is about Swinton the time consuming, almost impossible task for constructing a stadium has a huge amount of obstacles to overcome.
At the moment Coventry FC are playing outside their city boundary, after financial assistance from the council, and their saga continues [url=http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/sisu-wins-judicial-review-decision-6354042Story[/url
I am still amazed at how the Olympic stadium was constructed in the densely populated area of east London in such a small timeframe. It must have been devoid of the lesser spotted newt;amongst other things.

JGR, there is no conflict when both clubs are playing in two different competitions, I had this confirmed by the RL before xmas.
As far as Swinton playing at Barton then you are quite correct, sale have it written in to their contract with the stadium company that only four extra games can be played over and above Salford and Sale, with of course the exception of Man Utd which is quite frankly laughable when football damages a pitch far more than Rugby.
I was also surprised with MK's comment about moving Salford for the reasons you state and also currently his plans are for a 6k capacity stadium as this no where meets the RL minimum standard for an SL franchise. Perhaps more information will be released by MK when he meets with Swinton fans at a public meeting on Thursday. At this stage there a lot of unfounded rumours circulating regarding his Swinton takeover so much of this may well also be addressed.
One thing for sure talk of our demise is very much far from the truth.

| I have a feeling that the Dr is trying to get some leverage with regards to our Stadium. It's no secret that he wants Salford to own their own ground and maybe sees hinting at a move as a way of progressing things.
