Gloucestershire All Golds picked up their sixth win of the Johnstone Press Championship 1 season after beating Oxford 36-20. Craig Cook, Matthew Bradley, Ben White, Miles Fairbank, Frankie Foster and Danny Thomas all touched down for the home side. Tommy Connick, Jack Briggs (two) and Thomas Davies replied for Oxford, who remain one place above bottom side South Wales Scorpions, missing the chance to leapfrog London Skolars who also have 13 points.
See you all down at Iffley Road for next weeks home match with Oldham RLFC.
The most disappointing aspect was that having pulled themselves back from 18-0 to 18-14 ( two kicks hit the upright) they allowed the All Golds total domination for 20 mins. Exactly the same scenario as the Skolars game. There seems to be a lack of killer instinct within the team, the ablity to keep a roll on and close out a game. That lies with the senior players. they are the ones who must pick up the newbies and show them how to get over the line.
(enough sporting cliches for you?)
