I ve just been informed i have a very low platelet count (as well as my existing condition which ive mentioned on here a few times).
Had a blood test on monday and had to go back yesterday morning for another test as they couldnt read the platelets due to clumping.Last night at work the doctor phoned me up to tell me i had to stop my warfarin as my platelets were low at only 40 and this was dangerously low. Not sure if he was exaggerating but he said if my gums bleed when i brush my teeth or have nose bleed etc i have to go to hospital!!!!!!(they have bled regularily in the nearly 4 years when i first got ill)
Has anyone else had/got low platelets?
have you had excessive bleeding?
have they gone up to normal range?
does it restrict you in any way?
any other info?
