I also wouldn't expect the Walsh that we saw at the start of last season, just yet anyway. He needs to ease himself back into the game and build his confidence. Personally I would prefer to see him ease through a couple of games with minimal contact, either in defence or attack. His value to saints is in organising and leading us round the park. Hopefully burns will be back soon too, and can do more of the tough work.
I could not give a monkeys if he does not get tackled at all to start with, he can just stand there organising and selecting passes.
Whilst the kicking game has been woeful, it's not been that much of an issue territorially as our pack has marched us up the field nicely. It's the use of the final play and short kicking game that has impacted us the most.
Let Walsh play FB in defense if we want to keep him out of the line. He can do what they did against Hull FC and just lay the ball off to the nearest winger until he is fit.
