My vote would be for Paul Charlton.

Of course David Watkins was fantastic but PC was top draw in my eyes.

all that team was from charlton to fielding hesketh watkins richards banner nash gill coulman walker grice knighton DIXON prescott all my heros and the main reason i still go today same as many of us over forties

Think it depends on how old you are.

I wasn't around in the 70's so i couldn't vote for the likes of Watkins, Charlton etc regardles of how good i know they were.

For me my favourite Salford player of all time is Steve Blakely.

the best modern day player i have seen is probabally PAUL SHAW, or garry jack,or tex evans or neil barker all quality

I completely agree. He was a genius, with some great players around him.

Paul Shaw was light years ahead of everyone who he played with

If we are talking players we actually remember seeing play I have to agree, Paul shaw is up there. But on reputation I couldn't pick from the Watkins era. They were not just a group of individually great players, they were a great TEAM.
