| As others have said, it's a sign of how much progress has been made in such a short space of time that by the end of last night's game there was a slight air of deflated disappointment around the faithful. The second half became very scratchy and disjointed with all the interruptions and enforced changes happening.
But, we've now won five away games on the bounce having previously gone 18 months without so much as a sniff of one. We never seriously looked like losing last night, but our inability to not kick on in that second half did lead to the air of frustration around the place, which probably is how the likes of JC and Sezer felt about the outcome.
Next Saturday is clearly going to be a different ball game, and I do worry that we may find ourselves pinned back in our half for prolonged periods, unable to make metres against rovers stifling defence, but 9pts from a possible 12 is way above anything I thought we would come out of from the opening six games. Certainly, if we have learnt anything from these opening matches it's that this side will dig in and graft. It may not be very pretty at times but so far everyone has risen to each challenge set in front of them. Think we're going to need a good deal more of that attitude (in spades) next Saturday if we are to derail their hopes and dreams.
Two more points on the tally cementing our place inside the top-four! Who would have thought it 6/7 weeks ago? Bring on the next (big) challenge. We have hope and belief in ourselves once more, and that alone is significant progress on recent years.

Aaron Bower: Hull FC have won more Super League games in six matches this season (4) than they did in their previous 36 matches spanning two seasons (3). Some start from John Cartwright
Six games in and we have 50% more points already than we achieved across the whole of 2024, and a Cup win at Wigan to boot!! Like you say, some start from JC. Wonder how it compares to our other coaches across recent years? The times they are a-changing, as someone rather more erudite than myself once famously said! First eight games as Hull FC coach: Cartwright W6 D1 L1 Grix W1 L7 Smith W2 L6 Hodgson W5 D1 L2 Last W4 L4 Radford W3 L5 Gentle W6 D1 L1 Same record as Gentle, Grand Final nailed on then! Wrong Peter - Gentle got us to a CC final, sharp got is to our one and only Grand final Whoops! It was so long ago all the Peters have melded together.

Shut-down Sexy-Texy and we'll hopefully get the job done. Backed the Hermanator for another power-over. 5/2, try anytime.
I had him at 14/1 first try scorer..... Good man.He paid for my hotel, ticket, train and beer. He also paid for an extra 6 hours in a pub in Bramley yesterday afternoon, on the strength I mistakenly got the Halifax train instead of the Hull one lol. He also paid for my taxi fare from Bramley back to Leeds train station. I'm deffo a few rashers short of a FULL ENGLISH lol.

| think Peter Gentle and possibly sharp were the nearest we have had persona wise to Carty, myself. Lot to be said for NRL pedigree really just look at the new British coaches at Huddersfield and Cas. obviously struggling culture wise

Thought at times we played ok, ball in hand.. The last 10 mins was a bit disappointing, put the cue on the rack.-IMO. Was very impressed with Eseh, carried the ball strong, and good work rate. I thought it was Briscoe's best game since he's returned.. also Fash , he's improved his discipline, he was the main culprit, in the ' 6 again' , defensively excellent. Next week, it would be massive IF Will Pryce was earmarked to play, just for the reaction from the other side of the city.. If not I'd like to see Rapana at 6, maybe Hardaker or Litten at FB, Moy at the moment, is too lightweight, and needs to work more under the high ball
