Been reported by RL Journalist John Davidson that we are interested in Kallum Watkins. I've always worked on the basis that I can sit at home on the settee watching the telly than go to work for nowt, so it's understandable that he did not want to turn out for Salford today, don't pretend to know the circumstances at his club but can't help feeling that club chairmen might not look too favourably on his actions and might question his loyalty, maybe he might have been better off playing today, I'm sure opinions will be divided, whatever though I think his time will now be up there.

| They can't all play because of the restrictions so some of the big stars have to drop out. And if he's not being paid I see why he would volunteer.
It certainly wouldn't put me off getting him but I don't think we need him and Leeds are top of tge list from what I've heard.

I'll guess that you are trying to provoke a response here,So i'll duly oblige you as I am very good friends with a couple of the Salford players families and I know only too well what they have gone through. If you don't know the circumstances regarding what is going on at Salford then why did you make this post? Every other RL fan in the world apart from you does actually know that players and staff haven't been paid on time for the past 2 months. I find your post very insensitive to what each member of staff at the Salford club is going through at present, as they will all have mortgages and also other payments to make each month. I fully support what Kallum Watkins and Chris Atkin have done today by making themselves unavailable for selection. IMO I think that all SL club chairmen will have a far more educated opinion than yours and that both players will be signed up vey soon. In the meantime you can sit on your settee and not go to work until the bailiffs come knocking on your door

In the meantime you can sit on your settee and not go to work until the bailiffs come knocking on your door I am not without sympathy for the Salford staff and players. They have albeit late been paid. To refuse to play despite being paid I’m not sure that the players should be beyond reproach entirely for that decision. They have ultimately been paid to do the job in the end afterall. Had they not been paid I could be more understanding of their decision. Ultimately you will have opinions that vary on this subject. If my workplace paid me late then I could likely not go in for the days after I should have been paid but I’d likely return when I was paid what was owed and probably wouldn’t expect payment for the days I didn’t work the following month unless it was result of sickness. What it probably does show is that the club at Salford is completely fractured throughout from top to bottom and throughout the playing staff too. A sad state of affairs.

| And Trojan.....if you were paid late, twice.....and went in to work. Would you be happy or would you be looking for another job? (Or going to the union for help, if that kind of job)
It's a breach of contract. He's every right to withhold his talent in my opinion.

| Anyone who has been in a position of financial uncertainty through work, whether it being a self employed tradesmen, on the books at a business etc will know the stress and resentment it causes.
I don’t blame anyone for walking away from a job that is jeopardising your finances.
