I've just been reading a copy of League Express from 19th July, which contains a letter from a Roy Claxton, London. In his letter he says that Bob Brown made an announcement on BBC London that Hemel Stags had joined the rugby union as a number of youngsters needed winter competition.
Is this true?

It is true that Hemel Stags RFU have been formed. This is aswell as not instead of League. Has what was said in the programme it was to give our young players games throughout the winter. If they go off to play union why not play union at the club they play League for. Its no different from union clubs playing league during their off season.

League has always been the dominant code at Hemel, still is, and always will be. The use of Union is as a tool to try to ensure player retention as they progress through our development system. We also are looking at making Pennine Way a centre of excellence in sport in general. We now have an arm of the club called "Hemel Stags Aces Football Club", but you can rest assured that the continued development of Rugby League is the reason Hemel Stags exists and that will not change.

Hello , anybody home ?

Just caught sight of this post. It is no secret that we want to join the semi-pro leagues and we have applied to be admitted to Ch1 next season. We are yet to receive a decision from the RFL.

Haven't they given you a date for the decision?

Yeah, it was in July! Probably now November time
